Food was delicious. Another person in my party requested a gluten-free chicken parmigiana and it was hand made. Great service.

We had high hopes for this place and tried it on a Saturday night. The environment was nice and vibrant. Reservation was easy on the app. However, the food was much below average and price you pay at this place. As if the chef cannot make a decent judgement of the taste before serving. Overly salty or sour or …. Very disappointing. We attempted to send back the food and they changed it. Second time was still a disappointment and the manager was reluctant to accept that the food had came out wrong again! Customer service and definitely the food is not acceptable to the money you pay. We won’t be back tho.

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem, IL Porto last weekend walking around. It was 2:45pm before the dinner rush and were able to be seated outside immediately. The host was very kind and our waiter was attentive. We started with an espresso martini and a cosmopolitan. The bartender was on point and the drinks were perfection. Hard to find a bartender that can make a killer Cosmo but found it at IL Porto. We weren’t ready for a full meal but ordered the Bruschetta “Il Porto. It was absolutely amazing! We highly recommend ordering it. The outdoor seating was beautiful and comfortable. Comfortable chairs and linens on the table. Our only regret is finding IL Porto on our last day in Alexandria. Will definitely be back

Unfortunately, this meal fell completely short and was an incredibly disappointing experience. The service was slow and forgetful to start with dirty cutlery on the table. The quality of the food and drinks were low as the spaghetti stuck in hard strands undercooked and straight out of the box. The diet cokes were more water than soda and the same can be said for the sauce: more water than tomato. Also, the prices on the menu are $2 more than online with less options presented such as no chicken Marsala. I recommend a rebrand and trying a different place in old town.

The restaurant has a very nice exterior, there is outdoor seating first come first serve, downstairs dining room and upstairs dining room with bar. Food was very good. I had the gnocchi con crema di porcini e fungi which is a current special. Other members of our table had the braciole alla napoletana, scaloppine al Marsala and pollo siciliano. We all agreed food was great and atmosphere was lovely. The service left a bit to be desired. We sat for over 15 minutes before anyone came over to check on us and take our order (during this time one of the members of our party had a brunch menu instead of dinner so we had to share). We had to ask three times before our waters were refilled once and this continued to be a trend throughout dinner. You also box up your own meal which is always a disaster with saucy meals. Dessert was also good. We had tiramisu and pistachio torte.
